Head of School’s Message
Dear Parent
I hope you had an enjoyable weekend. Fortunately, typhoon Atsani didn’t impact Hong Kong these past few days and delivered some sunshine instead.
Inclement Weather – Alternative Learning Provisions
To this note, ESF has reviewed its policy on providing alternative learning provisions during inclement weather or unforeseen class suspension. Depending on the situation, we will do our best to send out communication as early as possible regarding the arrangements. If it is a typical typhoon day, we plan to send out asynchronous distance learning to allow for access flexibility depending on the severity of the storm and everyone’s home situation. If it is a longer period, then we will follow-up with further communication of the arrangements.
Parent-Teacher Consultations (PTC)
PTCs are coming up, please book your Zoom appointment via the ESF App. Your class teacher will send you the Zoom link directly. K2 sign-ups are now live; K1s will be available tomorrow.
Home-School Partnerships
You can find out more about your child’s recent Unit of Inquiry and Chinese learning on the class site via the ESF App under the “Home Learning” tile. Our PYP Coordinator, Brenda Yuen, will also contribute to the class sites to share the rationale behind our teaching and learning practices – watch this space!
While we cannot resume our Parent Volunteer programme in person yet, we would like to engage our Parent Experts virtually. If you are interested, please CLICK HERE to share your expertise with us. We will contact you when there is an opportunity to share your expertise and connect it to our learning.
School Photos
We have scheduled Peter Inglis, a professional photographer, to come on the 12 and 13 January. We have worked with Peter in the past and he has been wonderful with the children. Peter has a selection of puppets and tricks, which he uses to get great smiles from children. The children are now developing their confidence and characters; I’m sure the children will have lots of fun on the day. Peter will be taking photographs of individual children, siblings and class groups.
Please note that we will not force children to be photographed against their wishes. Siblings will also get an opportunity to be photographed together. A whole school photograph will also be taken.
Thank you as always,
Audrey
Head of School
