Head of School’s Message
Dear Parents
Welcome once again to all our new families and welcome back to our returning families!
I look forward to welcoming you in person here at Hillside when it’s safe to do so.
For the meantime, I will be connecting with you virtually. Continuing with the tradition from last term, I will deliver the general Hillside news with a short video clip accompanied by text as options for our parents to access.
I enjoyed meeting many of the children at assembly last week. I hope you found the parent-teacher sessions last week helpful, and I hope the children will enjoy the teacher-family sessions this week.
As all the class teachers are engaged in these one-on-one sessions, we took this opportunity to introduce our non-class based adults to the children via the Chinese and assembly sessions. These sessions are intended to engage the children on the virtual platform and to get everyone into a routine. We hope these connections will help to form a good foundation as we embark on this distance learning journey together.
We will begin our regular class zooms next week, and the children should soon settle into routines. On this note, I have a few important reminders:
- In preparation for the upcoming zoom sessions, please log into Gateway and take a moment to read and acknowledge the Safeguarding Guidelines for Zoom Sessions for children/families.
- Y1 Admissions Sessions for K2 families: We will be facilitating a webinar for current K2 parents to explain the ESF Year 1 Application and Admissions Process on 27 August 2020, 6pm. Please register in advance for this webinar – https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_LOIQgDTgQEOTgbIXxluoSA
Thank you for your support and patience during this induction period!
Kind regards
Audrey
